Heavy duty coating refers to a type of anti-corrosion coating designed for harsh corrosive environments, offering a longer protection period compared to conventional coatings.
It performs reliably under severe conditions and provides long-lasting anti-corrosion life. In chemical atmospheres and marine environments, heavy-duty coatings typically last 10 to 15 years, and even longer in acid, alkali, salt, and solvent media. Under certain temperature conditions, they can serve over 5 years.
Thick film is a defining characteristic. Standard anti-corrosion coatings have a dry film thickness around 100μm to 150μm, while heavy-duty coatings range from 200μm to over 300μm, with some reaching 500μm to 1000μm, and even up to 2000μm.
