On-Site Corrosion Challenges

Yancheng offshore wind farms feature a typical offshore marine climate with persistent high salt spray, intense ultraviolet radiation, and hot and humid weather throughout the year. Wind turbine blades are in long-term high-speed rotating operation, facing dual damage of environmental corrosion and mechanical wear. Ordinary coatings are prone to peeling, fading, cracking and edge abrasion, which will reduce blade aerodynamic performance, increase equipment operation failure rate, and bring high maintenance costs and potential safety hazards to offshore wind power projects.
